Calm the Chaoz started as one family’s attempt to make sense of a harder-than-expected journey.
When our son was diagnosed as autistic, I quickly realized how little support — and how few resources written for parents like us — existed, especially here in Japan. What I found instead was a lot of clinical information and not much that spoke to the day-to-day reality of raising an autistic child: the mornings, the meltdowns, the small wins that don’t always make sense to people outside your home.
This site is my attempt to change that.
Calm the Chaoz brings together practical tools — visual schedules, sensory routines, gut-brain resources — alongside honest reflections from our own journey. It’s built for parents of autistic and neurodivergent kids, as well as anyone navigating gentle parenting more broadly, who want real, usable support instead of another generic checklist.
I don’t have all the answers. But I’ve learned a lot, and I wanted to build the resource I wish I’d had when we were starting.
If any of this helps even one family feel a little less alone, it’s worth it.
